UNDSETH, Irwin (Buster) - aged 88 passed, away with his family at his side on May 16, 2012, at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. Buster leaves to cherish his memory, Bertha, his loving wife of 65 years; his daughter Babara (Bruce) Forrest of Ucluelet, BC and their children Jody and Amanda; his son Bob of Medicine Hat, AB, and his children Cody, Frankie, Ryder and Seth; 4 great grandchildren; his brother Clayton (Bernice) of Calgary, AB; sister-in-laws Marybelle Undseth of Cabri, SK, Iris Undseth of Calgary, AB, Martha Satter of Medicine Hat, AB; brother-in-law Clarence Arnelien of Cabri, SK; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Ida and John Undseth; his brothers Oscar, Sid, Ken, and Merle; his sisters Jean, Irene, Opal, and Evelyn; his great-granddaughter Ashleigh Welsh. Buster was born on the family homestead at Fosterton, SK, on November 19, 1923. He went to Mistletoe School and spent much of his youth helping on the family farm. Buster drove gravel truck, worked on the CPR, worked in Barrhead, AB, and at the stockyards in Calgary, AB. Buster farmed in the Battrum and Pennant areas and made his home in Pennant. He loved the land. He enjoyed horses, cattle, and travel. Most important to Buster were his family, friends, and neighbours. He was a hardworking, kind, and patient man who treated everyone with respect and showed the importance of keeping family ties strong. His laugh and warm personality will be sadly missed but will live on in our hearts. What a wonderful difference one single life made. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Pennant Community Hall with Pastor Greg Kiel officiating. Pastor Larry Enslen from Medicine Hat, AB, read scripture. The eulogist was Doug Moen, and the pianist was Thelma Wallace. Special music was provided by David Hagel who sang “Take My Hand Precious Lord,” and Heather Arnelien who sang “The Lord Is My Shepherd.” Allyson McCaw read the poem “If You’re Not From the Prairie.” The pallbearers were Perry Shaw, J. D. Shaw, Paul Rogg, Bill VanWormer, Dorian Sondrol, and Dick Braun. The ushers were David Dowdeswell and Dennis Dickie. Interment took place at St. John’s Cemetery at Fosterton, SK.
