Vinetta Colosimo (MacDonald)
Lieu de naissance : Glace Bay, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada
Lieu de décès : Canada
Date de décès : 7 juin 2012
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a dear wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Vinetta passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on June 7, 2012.
Born In Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Mabel (Mullins) MacDonald.
She was a member of the Cape Breton Artist Association for many years as well as the Glace Bay Art Group.
Vinetta’s love of art and all things Irish encouraged her to paint a picture of an Irishman named Kelly on the side of a rock on Kelly’s Mountain over 25 years ago. It is a conversation piece by locals and travellers alike.
Vinetta’s love for art was surpassed only by her love for music, specifically fiddle music, whether she was playing the fiddle herself, with her friends, or enjoying listening to some of her favourite Cape Breton fiddlers.
Vinetta loved her getaways at her cabin in River Denys, her weekly music sessions with her friends and her weekly chats with her “tea Buddies.”
Vinetta is survived by her loving husband, Mario Colosimo, Dominion; and children, Mario (Carol), Dominion, Cynthia (Rick) Lawrence, Glace Bay, Neil (Bev), Fall River, Vinetta (Eric) Rockwell, Gardiner Mines, and Cara (Steve) MacDougall, Brampton. She was a proud Grammy to nine grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, Olivia, Kristen, Alyssa, Jenna, Carly, Joseph and Michael. Also survived by brothers, Kenny (Eva), Richmond Hill, Paul (Arlene), Valley Mills, Johnny (Linda), River Denys, Leo, Valley Mills, Donald (Dianne), Malagawatch; and sisters, Mary MacKinnon, Malagawatch, and Leone MacCalder, Port Hawkesbury.
She was predeceased by her brother, Neil (Pete).
Vinetta will be missed immensely by her family and friends for her love, humour, music, art, spirituality and insatiable love of life.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service at Forest Haven. Memorial to take place at a later date.
