Melitha Lovett, 78 years, passed away in the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, surrounded by loved ones on June 3, 2012. Born April 2, 1934, in Lilydale, Nova Scotia to the late Violet (Brown) Knickle and Leonard Knickle. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her three children, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She kept busy at home making sure her children and later her grandchildren were lovingly taken care of. When her children were older she worked part-time at Eaton's in the Ladies Department. In 1978 she became the 1st President of the Business Ladies Division at the Mayflower Curling Club. She enjoyed curling and socializing with friends. In later years she enjoyed spending summers in New Brunswick with her lifelong friends Marilyn and Donnie. While living in Bridgewater, she looked forward every morning to spending time with her morning coffee group. She loved to knit, read, do puzzles, yard work and spend time with her family. Melitha will be sadly missed by sons Douglas (Gayle), Windsor, Michael (Carolyn), Bridgewater and daughter Catherine (Steve McClary), Amherst; seven grandchildren Joel, Nicolle, Melissa, Jonathan, Breanna, Ashley and Mallory; two great-grandchildren Ava and Ryan. Besides her parents, Melitha was predeceased by her loving husband Douglas Lovett. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care and supervision of the Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax. Visitation will be held from 7-9p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. from the funeral home on June 6, 2012. Following the service, a private family burial will take place and she will be laid to rest with her husband in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville.
