Having reached 85 years, passed away quietly on June 8, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, B.C.
Vic lived a full life from learning his first trade in Glace Bay, N.S., time as a steam engineer with Imperial Esso Tankers, working as a machinist and millwright in the oil field shops in Calgary and finishing his working time at Island Paper Mills on Annasis Island near Vancouver, B.C.
His personal time was mainly spent fishing. He met and made many friends during his excursions, especially the many friends from Bowser Bills Fishing Resort.
Vic is survived by his sister, Betty in Truro; his sons, Gary in Glace Bay, Mike in Calgary and Robert in Leduc, Alta. There are also nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held later this summer.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses, health care, friends and emergency people who helped dad.
