NICKERSON, Avis Zelda, 91, long-time resident of Bayside Home, Barrington, formerly of North East Point, Cape Sable Island, passed away peacefully in Bayside Home on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Born in North East Point on September 26, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Ida (Crowell) Nickerson. Avis loved cats and visits from her family, especially when they brought her quarters. She also loved to work in the kitchen at Bayside. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, survived only by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Vella, Beulah; half-sister, Katherine; brothers, Avery, Gene, Malcolm; and half-brother, Murray. Visitation was held on Friday, June 15 at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. A graveside service was held on Saturday, June 16 in Centerville Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Shaun Hatfield.
