SMITH, ANNA B. – 86, of Halfway River, Cumberland County passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Halfway River, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Jessie (Yeomans) Pettigrew. Anna was a life member of the Halfway River Women’s Institute and member of St. George’s Anglican Church. She worked closely with her husband much of her life in the operation of their blueberry farm in Halfway River. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family. She is survived by daughters, Barb Babineau (Louis), Parrsboro; Beverley Brown (Gerald), Two Islands; sons, Ronald (Doreen), Parrsboro; Raymond (Diane), Halfway River; eight grandchildren, Kim, Michelle, Matthew, Kristina, Jason, Annette, January, Jennifer; 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ray in 2002; a great-grandchild, Cameron in infancy; a sister, Ena in infancy. Visitation 6-8 p.m. today [Tuesday, June 26, 2012] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. George’s Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Tory Byrne officiating.
