Passed peacefully away in the An Cala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, NS on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, Clyde Elmer Sheppard. Born in Lark Harbour on October 21, 1931 to the late Willoughby and Lillian (Mollon) Sheppard. Predeceased by his wife, Ruby (Barrett) in 1991 and brother, Garfield. Survived by sons: Randy (Victoria), Gillams, and Earl, Hamilton, Ontario, daughters: Lillian (Verdun) Darrigan, Gillams, Marilyn (Eugene) Gilliam, Corner Brook, Phyllis (Richard) Moase, Guelph, Ont., Tamara (Bill) Scheeringa, Kitchener, Ont., and Debora Sheppard (Tony Payne), Parsons Pond; sisters: Phyllis Gilbert, NB and Irene Sheppard, Deer Lake; several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his Cape Breton family, special friend, Mae Mollon and her family. A memorial service will be held at St. James Anglican Church at 2 p.m. on June 30, 2012, with Rev. Nellie Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Newfoundland.
