Dorothy Prudham

PRUDHAM, DOROTHY MAE - March 10, 1923 – June 26, 2012. It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Prudham at Portobello Manor in Orléans, ON, with loving family and friends at her side. Born and raised in Moncton, NB, Dorothy came to Toronto in the early 1950s, where she was proud to give 32 years of exemplary service to General Foods, Canada. Dorothy loved to travel, and visited countries around the globe, researching each destination before setting off, and documenting each travel experience with pictures and journals. Her other passions included golfing, reading, the ballet and taking a variety of interesting and stimulating educational courses over the years. Family and friends were very important to Dorothy, and she worked hard at keeping those relationships thriving. Pre-deceased by her parents, Paul and Janet (Howie), Dorothy is mourned by her cousin Ken (Dorothy) and his family, as well as other family and friends. She was a special “aunt” to Joan (Gray) and Bill Gardiner, Jim and Laurie Beer, Marilyn (Beer) and Albert Joseph, and Margaret (Beer) and Brian Tubman and their families. Many thanks to the staff of Portobello Manor and to Dr Louise Coulombe. Special thanks to caregivers Ingrid Copas of Toronto and Carol Pugsley of Orléans, who gave companionship and loving care to Dorothy and helped to make her sunset years happy ones.
A Memorial Service will be held at R. S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON, at Goulding, south of Steeles), on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 11 am. In Memoriam donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences www.rskane.ca
