HAZLETT, CATHERINE B. (KAY) - 1933-2012 - Miramichi - Catherine Barbara (Kay) Hazlett, widow of the late Glen L. Hazlett, of Murray St., Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at the age of 78. Born in Niagara Falls, Ont., on September 25, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Elizabeth (Hanley) Taylor. She was a homemaker; a former employee of the Mic Mac Restaurant, E.S. Sticklen Co. Ltd., the Cunard Restaurant and Joe's Diner. She was Roman Catholic by faith and in later years attended St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon LeBlanc (Mickey), of Moncton and Kelly Hillier (Jason), of Ottawa, Ont.; three sons, Gary Sokolowski (Linda), of Kingston, Ont., Terry Sokolowski (Natalie), of Winnipeg, Man., Dale Sokolowski (Julie), of Omemee, Ont.; one step daughter, Linda Sokolowski (Gary), of Kingston, Ont.; one step son, Bruce Hazlett, of Ottawa, Ont.; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Jackie Keys (Daryl), of Beansville, Ont. And Shirley Bieleckie (Cass), of North Bay, Ont.; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one step son, Gary Hazlett; one sister, Margaret Richard.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Monday, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser, assisted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Please note - vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:50 pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
