Wayne's family is very sad to announce his passing on July 2, 2012 at the Canmore Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was predeceased by his father William Henry Montgomery; his mother Rosena Magdaline Montgomery and a brother William "Billy" Montgomery. Wayne is survived by his siblings: Stanley (Elsie) Montgomery, Lorraine (Rudy) Nordin, Merilyn Verboom, Glenn Montgomery and Victoria (Pete) Sisetsky. He will be missed by numerous nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces - "A family with lots of love".
Wayne was born in Craik, Saskatchewan but grew up in Moose Jaw. He attended Peacock Technical High school, graduated and went on to be accepted by the R.C.M.P. Wayne chose, instead, to join the Lethbridge City Police. When Wayne left law enforcement, he went into the distribution and sales of Agricultural Irrigation equipment in Southern Alberta.
Wayne left the city and country life to come to the mountains and to Banff and worked for many years in hotel industry. Wayne loved people, loved baseball and curling and most especially, his family and the many family gatherings.
Wayne was dealt many health challenges which he was able to conquer until this last challenge, which he couldn't win.
Service of interment will be held in the family plot at the Craik Cemetery
at 10:30 am on Saturday July 14, 2012 with a reception following
at 1:00 pm at the Church of Our Lady in Moose Jaw, Sask.
