Vida Claire (Webb) Wood
With heavy hearts, the family of Vida Claire (Webb) Wood, 65, of Amherst announce her passing July 8, 2012 at the QEII Hospital, Halifax.
Born October 30, 1946 in Springhill, Vida later graduated from the Aberdeen Hospital School of Nursing and worked for many years as a nurse in obstetrics at the Highland View Regional Hospital.
Vida will forever be remembered for her sense of humor. She could always be heard laughing, telling a good joke or sharing a funny story. Vida was incredibly talented and well known for her sewing and quilting skills. She spent countless hours sewing for family and friends or for local children's charities.
Vida is survived by her loving husband, Ralph (Sam) Wood, daughter Marnie Wood and son Daniel Wood, sister Joyce (David) Crosby, brother Curtis (Carol) Wood, sisters Carol (Don) Oram and Barb Wood. Vida was also loved by many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews.
In celebration of Vida's life, a reception will be held at Furlong- Jones Funeral Home on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 2pm-4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vida's memory can be made to Maggie's Place, the QEII Foundation or the charity of your choice.
