It is with deep sadness that we the family announce that Charlie passed away peacefully at home on the Mira, on July 9, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney, and raised in Louisbourg, he is the son of Mrs. Jessie Lewis, Wilburn, and the late Charles Lewis.
Charlie’s heart was as beautiful as the Mira waters that surround his home. Every breath was filled with life, love and laughter. He was a true Cape Bretoner, always there to extend a helping hand, and a hardworking man who never missed a day of work. He loved seeing his friends along his journey and enjoyed a good game of golf. He adored his son, wife and mother. Charlie wore his heart on his sleeve and lived his life out loud and with great luster. He will forever be missed.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie; son, Dallas (Eirinn) Lewis; sister, Beatrice MacKay, as well as several aunts and uncles.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his sister, Annie MacFadyen and numerous aunts and uncles.
Cremation has taken place. In accordance with Charlie’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Interment will take place at a later date.
