It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Audley Nearing (Appleton) on July 11, 2012.
Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Margaret Appleton.
Audley was a devoted wife to her husband, the late Lawrence Nearing and loving mother to her six children. Audley enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and a good game of cards.
She is survived by her only daughter, Darlene (Barry) and sons, Lawrence (the late Debbie), Fabian (Joan), Brian (Cindy), Danny and Michael; grandchildren, Lawrence (Natalie), Robert (Melanie), Cheryl (Warrick), Michelle (Michael), Neil (Tracy), Josh and Morgan and great grandchildren, Lawrence Michael, Nathan, Caleigh, Ethan, Adam, Gabriella and Lucus. Audley is also survived by her sister, Bernice; her brother, Bill; sisters-in-law, Annie, Joan Fowler (Dave) and Norma Appleton and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Arnold, Bernie, Tom and Roy, her sisters, Annie, Dorothy, Edna, Shirley, and Joyce; brothers-in-law, Charles, Joe and Jim and sisters-in-law, Bridget and Viola.
In honoring Audley's wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
