MacRAE, J. FRASER - 1925-2012 - Miramichi - John Fraser MacRae, husband of Lydia MacRae, of the North Black River Road, Black River Bridge, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday, July 13, 2012, at the age of 86. Born in Newcastle, on November 18, 1925, he was the son of the late James R. and Grace B. (Fraser) MacRae. He was a laborer and a member of St. Stephen’s United Church, Black River Bridge; a member of the Miramichi Chapter of the Highland Society. He is survived by his wife, the former Lydia Beers; one daughter, Diane MacRae (Shannon Manderville), of Black River Bridge; two sons, John MacRae (Holly) and Jim MacRae (Tanya), of Woodlands; one sister, Helen Patterson, of Miramichi; nine grandchildren; as well as several special nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Mary Jamieson.
Visitation at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Sunday evening, from 7 to 9 pm and Monday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Stephen’s United Church, on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at 2:00 pm, conducted by Rev. Ivan Gregan. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery.
