The death occurred at his home in Freetown on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, of Arthur DesRoches, age 81 years. Born in Palmer Road on June 4, 1927, son of the late Joe and Gertrude (Arsenault) DesRoches. Husband of the late Olive (Gallant) DesRoches. Father of Sylvia Bourgeois (John) Montreal, Seymour (Wendy) Chelton, Freddie (Sharon) Freetown, Brenda Perry (Donnie) Summerside, Marie Paynter (Danny) Carleton Siding, Clifford (Ann) Summerside, Leonard (Sheila) Middleton, Linda McCardle (Gerard) Summerside, Calvin (Barb) Northam, Joanne Bridges (Paul) Freetown, Carol Reeves (Ronald) Kensington, Junior (Oshawa), Brian (Michelle) South Freetown, brother, Johnny DesRoches, Bathurst, 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Predeceased by infant sons Leonard and Stephen, granddaughter, Rachael, and brothers, Alphonse, Paul and Emile. Resting at the Lawless Funeral Home, 21 Somerset St., Kinkora. Funeral on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at St. James Church, Summerfield at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery.
