
JOHN BOYD
BOYD, John Alexander - 83 of Bridgetown, formerly of Prince Albert, Annapolis County passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Three Mile Plains, NS he was a son of the late James and Mary Catherine (Crowell) Boyd. In his early years, John was heavy equipment operator in the gypsum mines. He later joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and retired after 25 years of service to operate a dairy farm in Prince Albert, Annapolis County. He is survived by his wife the former Sandra DeLong, Wilmot; daughter, B.J. LeBlanc (Serge), Ottawa; sons, John (Susan) Boyd, Falmouth; Scott (Christine) Boyd, Toronto; Jamie (Allyson) Boyd, Vancouver; grandchildren, Shaundra, Joellisa, Zachary and Simon. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Donna and Betty; brothers, Arthur “Bub”; Reid and foster brother, Earl. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service was held Friday, July 20, 2012 in the Victoria Vale Baptist Church with Rev. Vaughn Henshaw officiating. A reception for family and friends followed the service in the Parker Hall. Donations in memory may be made to the Parker Hall Building Fund, Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or Charity of Choice.
