It is with heartfelt sadness we regretfully announce the passing of Archie Williams, who passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2009, after a short illness at St. Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish, N.S.
Born in Smelt Brook, N.S., he was the son of the late Parnell and Helen (Rambeau) Williams.
Archie will always be remembered for his athletic abilities in his earlier days for when he played for the Pt. Edward Cubs, softball and Pt. Edward Bison hockey.
We the family will never forget Archie’s witty ways and kind spirit.
Besides his parents, Archie was predeceased by his wife, Jill and sister, Betty Hennick.
He is survived by his children, Rose, Archie Jr., Glen, Ted and step-daughter, Debbie; sisters, Madeline and Agnes; brothers, Willard, Jake, Ira and Winston; as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial service for the late Archie Williams will be celebrated at the Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) in the All Faith Chapel on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. with music and reception to follow.
Donations in Archie’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of one’s choice.
Memorial arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
