Mildred Constance Moore passed peacefully from this life on Friday, July 20,
2012, at the Halifax Infirmary.
She was born in Yarmouth on April 18, 1931, daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Moore (Leblanc). Mildred, long-term resident of both Cape Breton and Dartmouth, N.S., took great joy in life and in her family which includes 13 grand and 10 great-grandchildren and three nieces.
An enthusiastic card player she was foremost a skilled jeweler, providing family members, craft fairs and cruise ships with her creations, which are now all over the world.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by her sons, Herb and Howard (Joan) Hawkins, Roland (Leona) and Willie (Sonia) MacKinnon; daughter, Mary (Roland) Briand and brother Sandy (Linda) Moore. She is also survived by former husband, Elmorne MacKinnon and was predeceased by son, Brian Hawkins; two brothers, Bob and Bill Moore and first husband, Bob Hawkins.
Heartfelt thanks are extended to the doctors and staff, 8th floor Stroke Unit at the Infirmary Hospital for their compassion and kindness.
