At her late residence on Thursday, July, 26, 2012, of Velda Irene McCourt (nee Rogers) of Kinkora, aged 64 years. Born on July 7, 1948, Velda was the daughter of the late Leighen and Marion Rogers. Survived by her husband, Justin McCourt, her sons Andrew (Shelley Gallagher) and Anthony McCourt (Darlene Gallagher) and by her daughter April McCourt. Also survived by her sisters and brothers Arnold (Carol) Rogers, Arthur (Jessie) Rogers, Faye (late Peter) Malone, Roy (Dianna) Rogers, Judy Stewart (Bruce), Florence Stewart (Lester) and brother-in-law Luke Duffenais. Also survived by her sisters and brothers Arnold (Carol) Rogers, Arthur (Jessie) Rogers, Faye (late Peter) Malone, Roy (Dianna) Rogers, Judy Stewart (Bruce), Florence Stewart (Lester), brother-in-law Luke Duffenais, sisters-in-law Frances McCourt and Minerva McCourt. Predeceased by her brothers Wilfred (late Ruby), Gordon and Barry Rogers; sisters Vera (late Everett) Mayhew and Shirley Duffenais, and sister-in-law Eliza Rogers. Also predeceased by members of Justin's family: father and mother-in-law Mervin and Myrtle (Duffy) McCourt and brothers-in-law Louis McCourt and Alfred McCourt. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora. Visitation on Sunday, July 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral on Monday, July 30, at St. Malachy's Church, Kinkora, with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Lower Bedeque cemetery. Donations in memory of Velda may be made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or Lower Bedeque Cemetery.
