Date de décès : 29 juillet 2012

LEBLANC, Louise (nee Dorschner)
Peacefully at home with her family and friends July 29, 2012. Loving wife to Carl of Wedgeport, devoted mother to Stéphane (Emily) and Alain and loving niece of Tante Betty. Cherished sister of Francine (Hendrik), Danielle (Daniel), Sylvie (Paul) and Michelle. Sister-in-law to Frank (Wendy), Allan (Eileen), Ivan (deceased) (Chris), Elden (deceased) (Donna), Larry (Fayleen), Tommy (Ena), and Frannie (Larry). Predeceased by her parents Fernande Rathwell and Bernard Dorschner and sister Nicole.  Tante Louise to many nieces, nephews, and friends. Dedicated teacher with the OCDSB, her last 25 years with her extended family at A.Y. Jackson. A passion for sewing, Louise spent countless hours sewing for graduations, community events, church functions, and for all the children in her life. Since her cancer diagnosis in March 2010, Louise learned to live every day for what it was and to appreciate what we often take for granted. Louise and family would like to thank so many people for all that they have done for her. Louise realized how important it is to appreciate the small things in life and the significance of the smallest and simplest gestures. So many people have helped Louise on her journey. The doctors, nurses, technicians and receptionists that have assisted her with so many appointments and tests should be commended for being so helpful. The staff at the Ottawa General as well as the Civic campus of the Ottawa hospital have demonstrated a degree of professionalism beyond expectations.  Special thanks to the oncology team of Dr. Maroun, and especially his nurse Pascale, Carepath nurse Kelly-Ann, Dr. Amjadi and his nurse Lorraine, the Cancer Unit at Queensway Carleton, Carefor nurses Kristin and Ruth, and the palliative team under the guidance of Dr. Susan Gick. Friends paid respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 580 Eagleson Road, Kanata, (613-591-6580),  Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral was held Thursday, August 2, 2012 to Eglise St. Rémi for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. To the many family members and friends who travelled from afar to visit, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. To our wonderful neighbours and her co-workers at A.Y. Jackson, thank you for the support. So many of you took the time to call, come and visit or offer rides to her many appointments and chemotherapy sessions. The cards, oh the cards!! There were so many and each one brightened her day. Louise felt very lucky to be surrounded by such caring individuals. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation would be appreciated. Thank you. Merci. À la prochaine.
