Lieu de décès : Sydney Mines, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada
Date de décès : 3 août 2012

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our father, brother, poppy ‘poopy’, uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend, Georgie Brown on Friday, August, 3rd 2012. In his final moments he was surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Georgie was born and raised in Sydney Mines, a true Cape Bretoner. He was the son of the late Albert and Suzanne (Thompson) Brown.
Georgie leaves behind the lights of his life; daughters, Debbie (Robbie Blinkhorn), Nona (Blaire Forrest), and Julie (Chris Walker); brothers and sisters, Albert (Angela), Annette, Joe, Jake, Allan (Marlene), Paul (Christine), Suzanne (Lane), and many nieces and nephews.
Georgie touched the lives of many. His grandchildren meant the world to him. Kimberly (his little diddit), Trevor (Soleil), Travis, Dovi, Betty Rae, Jorja and great grandchild Brycen. He enjoyed golfing with Travis and hunting with his hero T.T. (Trevor). The twins: B Rae & Jorja were his two precious little girls. Each and every morning he made them porridge. He spent a lot of time at the ball field between Brycen and Dovi's games. Dovi was Poppy's little man and they shared a special bond. The relationship between Poppy and his grandchildren was unbeatable.
If Poppy wasn't outside watering his backyard rink he was travelling province to province and state to state to watch his grandchildren play hockey. He enjoyed tickering around the barn with his best buddies Jimbo, Chris, Levi, Phib, and Skip. We would also like to mention his friend Danny O'Handley whom always made time for him. Watching the Olympics, boxing, and golf were some of his beloved pastimes.
Georgie was a hard worker who was in great shape and worked with Senie and Danny March construction and his son-in-law Robbie at Freeze Electrical. When he wasn't working he gave most of his spare time to each his grandchildren.
Simply put, he was just a really happy guy. A simple hello from Georgie would make anyone's day. He had a way of making everyone feel special.
Georgie was a lucky man who enjoyed many family events and activities, including Brown's Family Games Day and Brown's Family Christmas which took place annually. He was very fortunate to be surrounded by so much family.
Besides his parents he was also predeceased by his uncle Eddie; brothers Clyde, Joe (infant); sister Nona; brother-in-law Robert Little, as well as his best buddy Jimbo (Jimmy) MacDonald.
Upon Georgie's request the family is honouring him by holding a celebration of his life in his backyard Monday, August 6th, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at 292 Atlantic street in Sydney Mines. Everybody is welcome to attend.
"We love you dad, we will always miss you. We enjoyed every moment we had together."
Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
