Lieu de décès : Colombie Britannique, Canada

DORA MONTAGUE WORSFOLD March 15, 1916 - March 27, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mom on Friday, March 27, 2009 in Kamloops, BC. Mom was born March 15, 1916 in Edmonton, AB and lived a full life until 12 days after her 93rd birthday. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, George (Shorty) in 1993, son Norman in 2003, parents Mary and John (Jack) Martin, brothers and sisters, William (Bill), Harry (Archie), Kathleen (Kay) Ramer, Mary Ann (Lil) Silvester and George. Also predeceasing her were daughters-in-law Donna and Florence (Flo) and son-in-law David Haugan. She leaves behind the families of her other twelve children, Doreen (Bob) Morgan, David (Rose), Bernard (Joyce), Walter (Joanne) all of Kamloops, Leonard (Gail), Margaret (Wayne) Yarwood of Vancouver, Gordon and Ronald of Edmonton, AB, Albert of Mirror, AB, Bob (Sue) of Jasper, AB, Lucille (Manuel) Ferreira, Mary Haugan of Prince Rupert, BC and daughter-in-law Padi of Calgary, AB along with the many Worsfold and Martin families living far and wide including the family of the late Jesse and Ada Worsfold of Kamloops. Mom diligently kept count of each of her twenty-four grandchildren, fifty-one great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren as each one came into the world. Mom married dad in Edmonton on May 30, 1935. They moved to Jasper in 1945 with their first five children. Eight more children were born to them in the following years. The youngest son, Bob was the only one who stayed in Jasper and continues to live there. Mom and dad left Jasper after dad retired from his 50 years with the railway and they decided to move to Edmonton. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary in Kamloops in 1985 that was attended by all of their children - a very special time. Over the years, the family held many family reunions, always thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Mom and dad travelled frequently to spend some special time with many of their growing families. During that time, mom spent much of her time visiting her widowed mother, who was living in a senior's residence. Mom started writing her mother's correspondence to her families in England and continued to do so after her mother died in 1992. Mom also became involved in family history and has enjoyed spending her time doing her research. In 2002 mom moved to Kamloops to be closer to her families in BC. She was content to keep her independence, maintain her interest in politics and remain as strong willed as ever. We will miss her dearly. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, April 4, 2009 in the banquet room of the Eagles Hall, 755 Tranquille Road. Condolences may be emailed to demorgan@shaw.ca or to the family at 361 Sherwood Drive, Kamloops, BC, V2B 4E2. Arrangements provided by Personal Alternative Funeral Services
