Arthur Bennett, 84 of 141 Cornwallis St., Sydney, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at the Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late John and Lillian (Joseph) Bennett.
He was a member of St. Theresa’s parish, Sydney and worked at Sydney Steel Plant for 40 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Musician’s Union and also repaired TVs on the side.
He is survived by three sons, Roddie, Harold and Gordon; sisters, Marion, Joan, Patricia, Helen; brothers, Clarence ‘Buddy’, George ‘Georgie’, Anthony ‘Tony’ and several grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brothers, Rudy and Frankie, sister, Mary and former wife, Violet (Kaloc).
There will be no visitation for Mr. Bennett. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
