David Walton “Dave” Daye
EGERTON – David Walton “Dave” Daye, 60, Egerton, passed away suddenly Thursday, August 16, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Ernest and Eva (Braun) Daye.
Prior to retirement due to ill health, he was employed as a welder at the former Trenton Works. Dave enjoyed the outdoors fishing on Lochaber Lake and hunting. He was a loving husband, father, papa, brother and friend.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Janet (MacKay); daughter, Jennifer (Ron) Wipfler, St. Thomas, ON.; son, Aaron (Marie) Daye, Salt Springs; grandchildren: Haley, Grace and Abby Wipfler; Rowan and Grant Daye; brothers; Ernie (Harriet) Daye, Antigonish; Reginald “Reg” (Jessie) Daye, Craignish; Chester “Ches” Daye, Dartmouth; mother-in-law, Grace MacKay, Lochaber; numerous nieces and nephews who all thought a lot of their uncle Dave. Cherished friends, Kevin (Nancy) MacInnis and Paul (Mary) MacLean.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Edward “Ed” Sweet and Ronald “Ron” Sweet; father-in-law Donnie MacKay.
There will be no visitation by Dave’s request. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in North Lochaber Cemetery, Lochaber.
Donations may be made in Dave’s memory to the Salvation Army.
