ESLIGAR, LLOYD JOHN - The death of Lloyd John Esligar occurred on August 17th, 2012 at the Oromocto Public Hospital surrounded by his family. Born February 4th, 1929 in Doyleville, he was the son of the late James and Bertha (Furlong) Esliger and loving husband to Jean (Ward) Esligar of Burton, NB. From 1954 - 1979, Lloyd served in the Canadian Forces retiring as a Sergeant. This included tours of duty in Belgium and in Egypt with UN peacekeeping. Some of his interests were in carpentry, playing guitar, singing and gardening. Lloyd had a green thumb and had worked in an apple orchard following his retirement. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Jean; his children, William Esligar (Kathy) of Lincoln, NB, Gary Esligar (Ruth Anne) of St. Albert, AB, Robert Esligar (Anne) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Barrett Esligar (Terri) of Calgary, AB, Angela St. Croix (Beau) of St. Albert, AB and Ryan, Jenna and Kathryn Esligar of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Allan Esliger (Stella) of Dalhousie, NB, Sherman Esliger (Jacqueline) of Kingston, ON; sisters, Genevieve Theriault (Fernand) of ON and Lorraine Harvey (Donald) of Nash Creek, NB. He also leaves behind his best friend and loving dog, Molly. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Claude, Walter and Jackie Esliger.
By Lloyds request, there will be no visitation or service. Interment will be held in the New Mills Cemetery at a later date.
