With dignity and grace, in the quiet manner suitable for such an unselfish, kind man, George passed away peacefully, while surrounded by his devoted and loving family, at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, on Friday, August 17, 2012, at the age of 88 years. Son of the Late James and Catherine Gibbons, St. Vincent's, S.M.B. He leaves with fond memories, his wife of 59 years, Agnes (nee Hayward); sons: Aloysius (Marjorie) and Clem (Juanita); daughters: Georgina (Lionel) and Anna (Ron); grandsons: Justin & Adam Gibbons and Brent Fleming; granddaughters: Christen & Chelsea Lafave and Sophie & Olivia Gibbons and great-granddaughter Annabelle Gibbons. Awaiting the arrival of George at Jesus' table are his infant son James, parents James & Catherine Gibbons; brothers: Tim (Evelyn), Val (Jen), Tom, Herb (Helen), Larry (Rita) and sisters: Gertrude (Andrew), Elsie (Joe), Philomena (Ed) and Carmel. George will be forever remembered for his bright smile and huge heart by a large circle of relatives and friends as well as his extended family at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, where he received love and care during his stay there. Resting at Fr. Battcock Memorial Chapel, St. Vincent's, on Saturday, August 18, from 6 - 9 p.m. and Sunday, August 19, 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 20, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, St. Vincent's.
