PATTERSON, VERA LEAH - Mrs. Vera Leah Patterson formerly of Saint John, NB passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. She was born of the late Marguerite (Harvey) and Leavitt Benson at Seal Cove, NB on June 6, 1920. Leah spent her adult working life as a hairdresser at the Provincial Hospital in Saint John, was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge, and a faithful attendant at the Baptist Church. She is survived by one brother Laurence (Geraldine) Benson of Seal Cove, one niece Edith Cook of Deep Cove, Her nephews, Cameron (Helen) Benson of Saint John, and Buddy (Anita) Benson of Seal Cove, her sister-in-law Thelma Benson of Saint John; as well as her husband’s nephews, Larry( Nancy) Patterson of Saint John, Edwin ( Karen) Patterson of Saint John, and niece Patricia ( Allan) Boone of Grand Bay, several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Eric W. Patterson in 1990, her brother Harvey Benson, and Ray (Annie) Benson, and nieces Judith Chapman, and Pamela Keith. The family has requested a private committal service will take place on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Fern Hill Cemetery, Saint John.
