Margaret Doreen Bennett, 73, of Sydney passed away Aug. 11, 2012, surrounded by family at the Admiral Nursing Home, Dartmouth.
She was a member of St. Theresa’s Parish, Sydney. She worked as a nurse in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Toronto, and continued at St. Rita’s Hospital, Sydney. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her sons, nieces, nephews, grandson and friends.
Daughter of the late Earl J. and Violet (McNeil) Brewer, Margaret was predeceased by sisters, Frances Wojick and Valerie Boudreau and brothers, George and Earl.
She is survived by her sons, Vance, Shane (Amanda), Paul (Deborah), and her grandson, Parker.
Cremation has taken place under the care of the Dartmouth Funeral Home Ltd.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the charity of your choice.
A celebration of life will be held on Sept. 1 at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Welton Street at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Donald MacGillivray officiating. A reception to follow. The burial will take place in St. Theresa’s Cemetery at 3 p.m.
