Elizabeth “Betty” Irene Connor - 84, of Blomidon Court, Greenwich, formerly of New Minas, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in Blomidon Court. Born in Spryfield, Halifax County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Fanny (Leamon) Connor. She had been employed at Moirs Chocolate Factory, Halifax and was a stay at home mother. She later worked at Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. She is survived by four daughters, Debbie (Blair) Schofield, Thunder Bay, Ontario; Barb (Ralph) Smith, New Minas; Bev (Bernie) Bigelow, New Minas and Darlene Wheaton, New Minas; two sons, David (Barb States), Coldbrook and Clarence (Karen Randall), Port Williams; a brother, Lloyd (Phyllis), Barrie, Ontario; 13 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Michael and Robert; an infant granddaughter, Chelsey Schofield; three sisters, Beatrice, Rose and Norma; four brothers, Victor, Arthur, Alvin and Kenneth. Cremation has taken place and there was no visitation by family request. A memorial gathering of friends and family was held from 2-4 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Family flowers only by request. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Wolfville Nursing Home and Blomidon Court for their care and compassion. Donations in memory may be made to the Parkinson Foundation.
