ATKINSON, CHARLENE EDITH (STEEVES) - April 3, 1958 - August 15, 2012 - It is with great sadness that after battling ALS for the past year that my beloved wife Charlene passed away peacefully on August 15, 2012 at the age of 54, at home with her family. Charlene is survived by her husband Peter, their son Mitchell (Claudia), her parents, Barb and Austin Steeves and her two brothers, Craig and Colin.
All who knew Charlene are welcomed to visit the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa, on Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 6 to 9 pm and Friday, August 24 after 12:00 noon. A memorial service to celebrate Charlene's life will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 in the Sacred Space of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre at 1:00 pm, followed immediately by the interment and a reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the ALS Society of Ontario, 204A-1150 Morrison Dr., Ottawa, Ontario, K2H 8S9 would be appreciated by the family. Our lips cannot tell how much we will miss her. Our hearts cannot tell what to say. Our home is lonesome today without her. She is with her Lord in Heaven and we can only know that she is in a better place.
