It is with deep sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing of Roger J. Kenney, age 86, of Amherst, NS. Roger passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre with the comforting company of his family.
Born in St. Rose, NB, Roger was a son of the late Eli and Rebecca (Robichaud) Kenney.
Roger was a Millwright for the St. Lawrence Cement Company of Toronto, ON where he was employed for 14 years, moving to Amherst in 1977 following his retirement. He was a member of Holy Family Parish Church.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, the former Muriel Robichaud, Amherst; brother Jim, New Brunswick several nieces and nephews.
He was predecesaed by sisters Jenette, Leona, Gertie, Jeanne, and Lydia; brothers Raymond, Eldon and Prime.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Friday from 2 to 4 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from the Holy Family Parish Church, Amherst, on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10 am, Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery.
