Olive McFarlane
McFARLANE, OLIVE - Olive Elizabeth McFarlane, 83, of Jordan Life Care Centre and formerly of Kinnear Settlement, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Turtle Creek she was a daughter of the late John and Louise (Carson) Geldart. Olive was a homemaker, an honorary member of the Havelock Legion #86 and also an avid bingo and cribbage player. She is survived and missed by her children Eleanor Greer (Hollie) of Amherstburg, ON, Ken (Darlene) of Petitcodiac, Wayne (Lynn) of Harrow, ON, William (Cathy) of Riverview, Robert (Eleanor) of Petitcodiac, James of Sussex, Ross (Paula) of New Canaan, Moses (Patricia) of Salisbury; sisters Laura Russell of Salisbury and Rosie Burgess (Vincent) of Lewis Mountain; 27 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband William; sons Douglas and infant Allison; daughter Shirley; grandson Christopher; granddaughter Jean Alice; brothers Lloyd, Frank and Clarence and sisters Ruby Proctor and Emma Hopper.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Wednesday, August 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. with the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 86, Havelock conducting a memorial service at 6 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, August 23 at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with Pastor Vincent Burgess officiating. Interment at Pioneer Cemetery, Penobsquis. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
