George William Saari ìwhistled down the trackî to his final destination on August 18, 2012.

Born in Chase, B.C. to Annie and Wilhelm (Bill) Saari on June 3rd, 1926, George passed away peacefully in Kelowna, B.C. with his wife Norma by his side.

George retired as a CPR Engineer in 1986.

Pre-deceased by his father and mother, and in 1985 his first wife, Helvi, George will be greatly missed by wife Norma, sons Don (Johanna) and Ken (Pat), four grandchildren, William (Francais), John (Sara), Lisa Neuman (Eric), and Craig, ex-daughter-in-law Diane, and five great-grandchildren.

Georgeís positive outlook, his caring, gentle manner and his winning smile will be missed by all who knew him. We count ourselves lucky to have been able to call him: Husband, Pops, Poppa or Friend!

There will be a private interment of ashes at the Chase Cemetery.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22, 2012 at Chase Community Hall 547 Shuswap Avenue, Chase, B.C.
