Nicole McCord

McCORD, NICOLE ELAINE - Nicole Elaine McCord, a loving spirit, a beautiful dancer, a daughter/aunt/sister and friend of endless love and compassion, died suddenly at age 37 in Toronto August 18th, 2012. Nicole was creative and giving to the end. Nicole was the daughter of Diane and the late Brian McCord. She was born and raised in Toronto and obtained degrees in international development at Guelph University and later nutrition at Ryerson University. She had worked in food, nutrition and marketing in organizations in Toronto. A loyal and devoted friend, Nicole was a great listener. Her greatest passion was dance. Anyone who saw her perform as a member of some of Toronto’s best known amateur dance ensembles witnessed a creative, athletic, artistic soul whose grace and rhythm could take your breath away. For 7 seasons she enjoyed performing and creating choreography for Push/Pull Dance in Toronto. Nicole is survived by her mother Diane, her sisters Lori (Tony) and Katherine (Luke) and cousins and family from coast to cost. The three sisters remained very close and connected. She was a devoted aunt to her nieces Sofie and Sasha and nephews Porter and Finnegan. They loved their Auntie Nick tremendously and will never forget her spontaneous style and grace. Nicole was beautiful inside and out. She will be greatly missed.
Friends may call at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home 159 Eglinton Ave. West, (2 stoplights west of Yonge Street), Toronto, on Thursday, August 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up in Nicole’s name to support children’s dance programs.
