Marilyn (Lerette) Robichaud, aged 69 of Amherst died peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Thursday, August 16th, 2012, ending her battle with cancer.
Born in Sackville, N.B., daughter of late Raymond (Pete) and Evelyn (Lewis) Lerette.
Marilyn will be remembered by many as the former owner operator of Mother's Country Kitchen in Amherst, N.S., where she served many home cooked meals and lots of laughs. Marilyn enjoyed old time music, potlucks and gatherings where she greeted and welcomed many friends. She loved animals. She will be missed by the many international students she served as a second mom to over the 10+ years she opened her home.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Jean "John" Robichaud; 2 sons Danny (Louise Pye) Estabrooks of Amherst, NS and Todd Estabrooks of Oxford, NS.; 1 step son, Daniel (Jessie Lomax) Robichaud of St. Marie-de-Kent, NB; 1 step daughter Suzanne Robichaud of Sackville, NB; 6 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; 1 great granddaughter; special son-in-law Darren Smith, Linden, NS and friends and relations too many to list.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Darryl.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst (902-667-8777). Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service at this time. A graveside service will take place at a future date.
Donations to the Cumberland Cancer Assistance fund would be greatly appreciated by the family. John and family would like to extend thanks and care to the loving staff at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre and special thanks to Dr. Frizzle and Sherry Smith, palliative care nurse and VON nurse providing in home care and the Moncton Hospital Oncology Clinic.
