Joan E. Trenholm, age 79 of Sackville, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital with her family at her side. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Beatrice (Graham) Miller.
Joan was well known for her homemade quilts. She enjoyed bluegrass music and going to festivals around the Sackville area. Family was very important to Joan and she was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Joan will be sadly missed her children, Debbie (Walter) Coates of Amherst, NS, Cecil (Rose) MacLelland of Cape Spear, NB, Ross (Betty Legere) MacLelland of Amherst, NS, and Honey (Ed) Lutes of Hillsborough, NB; step children, Terrence (Marilyn) Trenholm, Craig (Rose) Trenholm, and Kathy (John) Roksa, all of Ontario; grandchildren, Jeffery, Wade, Jolene, Penny, Pamie, Donald, Albert, Shawn, Amelia and Felicia; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Roderick (Jean) Miller; sister, Mary Carter; sister-in-law, Louise (Steeves) Miller; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joan was predeceased by her first husband, Forrest MacLelland, and her second husband, Oswald Trenholm; brothers, Jim, Lloyd and Don; sisters, Dorothy and Jean.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300). Family and friends are invited to visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 2 pm, Bill Drysdale DLM officiating. Burial will follow in the Sackville Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Joan may do so to the Canadian Blood Services or a charity of your choice.
