Mrs. Gwendolyn Mary (Brereton) Wik died at the Innisfail Health Centre on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the age of 81 years. Gwen will be lovingly remembered by her son Bruce (Gwen) and his family Nick, Mike, Meghan (Rees) Lusk and family, Nadine (Dustin) Stirling and family Kimberly (Cody) Lewiski of Fort St. John, British Columbia and Becky Lauriente and family of Nelson, British
Columbia; her daughter Chris (Don) Clark and her family
Katelyn (Pat) MacDonald and the next great grandchild and Janelle of
Calgary, Alberta; a son Alex and his family Allister and his daughter Lily of Calgary, Alberta; and son Jerry (Danita) and his family Denver,
Tanis and Riley of Innisfail, Alberta. She is also survived by a sister Betty McPhee of Edmonton, Alberta; sister in law Margaret Brereton of Red Deer, Alberta; brothers in law: Elmer (Isabel) Wik of Trochu, Alberta and Roy (Sonny) Wik of Calgary, Alberta; sisters in law Sonia Kennedy of Airdrie, Alberta and Lila (Rob) Pearce of Sherwood Park, Alberta as well as many other relatives and friends.
Gwen was predeceased by her husband Alf and her granddaughter Wallis, her parents Mary and Alex Brereton, brother Mac Brereton, brother in law Bud McPhee, Alf”s parents Alma and Arild Wik, Alf’s sister Glenna Brown and brother Peder Wik, sister in law Elsie Wik and brother in law Bobby Kennedy. A Celebration of Gwen’s life will be held at Heartland Funeral Chapel, Innisfail, Alberta (4415 49 Street), on Friday August 10, 2012 at 12:00 p.m.
Urn burial will take place at a later date in Fort St. John, British
Columbia alongside of her husband Alf Wik. If friends so desire
