TRENTON - Ruby Blanche McLane, age 91, of High Crest Place, New Glasgow, and formerly of Caroline Street, Trenton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Tangier, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Blanche (Cooper) Mason. She moved to Trenton at the age of 2 and moved to New Glasgow in 2007. After her family were settled into school, Ruby began working part-time at the Trenton Post Office. After retirement she enjoyed being an active member of the Aberdeen Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton and a long-time member of the former Saint Augustine Anglican Church, Trenton. Ruby loved being active and enjoyed gardening, walking, bowling, curling, skating and was always ready for a game of cards especially with “The Ramoli Girls”. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her daughters: Cheryl and Deborah; step grandsons: Bruce Fraser (Tanya Purvis); Jim (Lisa) Fraser; step great grandsons: Cameron and Ian Seamus; sisters-in-law: Norma Mason, Dorothy Mason; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, William M. “Bill” McLane; brothers: Carl and Dempsey; sons-in- law: Edwin Fraser; William Craig. Visitation will be from 1-2 pm Saturday, September 15, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton, from where funeral service will be held at 2 pm Saturday with Archdeacon Peter Armstrong officiating. A reception will follow in the First United Church Hall. Burial will be in Abercrombie Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton, Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or a charity of choice.
