Edith (Wolfson) Lecker

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Edith (Wolfson) Lecker of Sydney. She was 88.
Together with her beloved Garson, Edith raised three daughters, Michele (Moishe Gryfe) of Toronto, Sheri (Mark Evans) of Stillwater Lake and Debra, who predeceased her in 1971. Bobe or ‘Bubs’ was the very best grandmother to Daniel (Dena) and Bessie, Joey and Sam and great-grandchildren Koby and Rikki. They were a great source of pride and comfort.
Edith is survived by her sister Shirley Chernin.
Last year, Edith was predeceased by Garson, her husband of 65 years. She was predeceased by her parents Abraham and Bessie Wolfson and brothers Michael, Wilfred and Dennis.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at Sydney Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at the Hebrew Cemetery, Lingan Road. The family will begin a week of mourning following burial, at the Cambridge Suites in Sydney until Thursday afternoon and then at their respective homes.
