REID, Harold Inkerson "Junior" - 65, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, he was a son of the late Harold S. Reid and Muriel O. (Lightfoot) Reid. Junior was an avid sports enthusiast and was a fan of both the Montreal Expos and Montreal Canadiens and lived for Hockey Night in Canada. He had worked at Ron Smith Texaco, Berwick, for over 27 years and served as manager after Ron’s death. Junior later worked as a foreman at Dempsey Corner Orchards. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Jane "Pat" (Nixon) Reid; sons, Christian Ernest Reid, Berwick; Michael David (Michelle) Reid, Kentville; grandsons, Gage Douglas and Linden Charles Reid; sisters, Pearl (Jack) Suderham, Edmonton, Alta.; Sheila (Ed) Avery; Karen Reid, Waterville; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Eileen (Ronald "Smitty") Smith. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bryce Johnstone of DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service (902-538-8317). There was no visitation. A private graveside service took place at 3 p.m., Saturday, September 8, in the Berwick Cemetery, with Pastor Linda Davidson officiating. No flowers by request, donations in his memory may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
