Shirley Ardith Geddes

Geddes: Shirley Ardith, 77, of Truro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in the Colchester Regional Hospital Truro. Born in Lower Truro, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Sadie (Logan) Carter. Shirley was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a homemaker most of her life, loved to skate as a young girl, very good bowler and loved to dance. She was a member of the First United Church in Truro where she was a long time member of Unit N, UCW. Shirley loved to do and give wherever needed. Shirley is survived by her loving husband Vernon; sons, Paul, Bedford; Kim (Dee), Truro; granddaughter, Samantha, Calgary. She was predeceased by brothers, Jack, Roy, Howard, Logan, Gordon, Bob, Eugene; sisters, Inez, Audrey, Eileen, Greta, Carol, Ada, Theda, Betty. Visitation will be held 7-9pm Friday, September 14, and funeral service 2pm Saturday, September 15, all in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, with Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment will then be held in the Brookfield Westside Cemetery, Brookfield. Family flowers only. Donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NS, the Alzheimers Society or to a charity of your choice.
