CROOKS, Sayde (Sue) Evelyn Gordina (nee Turpin)
June 5, 1920 - August 29, 2012
Passed away quietly in Ottawa at the age of 92. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Louisa (Chris Teron) and son Frank (Yanan Zhang), granddaughters Briar (Craig Dent) and Heather Teron, sister Jeanette Burbine of Cape Cod and many nieces and nephews.
Sue was born and grew up in Shelburne. Her parents were Melvin Turpin and Alberta Stewart. She is predeceased by her husband William Richard Crooks of Montreal and her siblings Blossom Marie (Sheppard), Arthur, Marguerite (Churchill Guye), Louella (Proulx), George (Lilly), Francis and Jack (Betty).
Sue served during WWII in Ottawa. She married Richard in Montreal in 1953 and spent most of her life there. She was very active in organizing continuing education for seniors at McGill University. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society or SPCA.
