DUECK, Loretta Gayle, age 67, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012, at the Herbert Integrated Health Facility. Gayle was born on November 24, 1944, at Wawota, SK to Asa & Mabel Fox. She attended the Cannington Manor for Grades 1 - 8 and continued Grades 9 - 12 at I.B.C. She then went on to get her Nurses Aide and her 1-A License. On July 11, 1964, she married Johann Dueck at Regina, SK. Gayle ran a Government Approved Care Home with four residents, who were like family. Our family will miss their presence in our lives. Gayle was a #1 Mom, a wonderful dear friend to many, and she loved to take care of others. She was kind, generous and loving and reached out to all who came into her life. She also had numerous hobbies and interests some of which included sewing, gardening, cooking, entertaining, Southern Gospel Music, singing, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren. Some fond memories we have are remembering the many times of singing around the piano while mom played, time spent in the kitchen with grandma baking and cooking, talking on the phone with her for hours on end, taking trips in the semi and lots of family vacations…where seatbelts were still optional. Gayle leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lorena (Ross) Whitney - Comox, BC, Pamela Dueck (Phil) - Winnipeg, MB, Twyla Dueck (Mahn) - Vancouver, BC, Greg (Michelle) Dueck - Moose Jaw, SK; her grandchildren, Jonathan, Jasmie and Yousef Lee, Deanna (Matt) Delblanc, Joshua (Lanea) and Marcus Whitney, Kiara, Jinaea, Jaron and Kyler Dueck; her great-grandchildren, Madisson Lenio and Evie Delblanc; her sister, Gladys (George) Cox; her brother, Keith (Faye) Fox; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Johann Dueck; her parents, Asa & Mabel Fox; her niece, Wanda Cox; and by 6 angel grandbabies. The Memorial Service was held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 2:00 pm from the Alpine Church of God, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Chad Dueck officiating. The pianist for the service was Elmer Dueck with musical selections brought by Deanna Delblanc, Greg Dueck, Lorena Whitney, the Dynna Family and by a duet by Greg Dueck & Lorena Whitney. “Sweet, Sweet Spirit” and “Sweet By and By” were sung by the congregation under the direction of Elmer & Eva Dueck. The life history was read by granddaughter, Kiara Dueck with Greg Dueck sharing memories on behalf of the family followed by a PowerPoint tribute. Honorary pallbearers were Rodney Cox, Ryan Cox, Wade Fox, Kent Fox, Marcus Whitney, Joshua Whitney, Jonathan Lee and Yousef Lee. The Interment Service was held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Herbert Cemetery, Herbert, SK with the following serving as pallbearers, Darwin Dueck, Myron Dueck, Sheldon Dueck, Greg Dueck, Jaron Dueck, Kyler Dueck, Curtis Heinrichs and Nolan Cox.
