MELANSON, ERNEST - Ernest Melanson, 90, of Moncton, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. Born on June 20, 1922 in Saint-Antoine, he was the son of the late François and Zita (Allain) Melanson. He is survived by three daughters: Lilianne Cormier (Léo) of Dieppe, Yvette Gathercole (Ron) of Moncton and Denise Prime (Léandre Cormier) of Sainte-Marie; one son, Yvon (Diane) of Moncton; his special friend, Faye Poirier of Moncton; one special nephew, Jean “Johnny” Caissie; two sisters: Leda Maillet (late Lionel) of Notre-Dame and Léona Robichaud (late Antoine) of Sainte-Marie; one brother, Clarence (Simone) of Lancaster, Mass.; seven grandchildren: Dwayne, Lisa, Lynn, Scott, Stephen, Julie and Marc; three great-grandchildren: Vella, Vox and Harisson, as well as several nieces and nephew. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine; three sisters: Azélie, Hélène and Yvonne; three brothers: Antoine, John and Irois.
