Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Friday, September 21, 2012, Allan George Oliver of Burnt Point, age 89 years. Predeceased by parents: Moses and Leah; brothers: Charles, Jacob and Jesse; sister: Mary. Left to celebrate his life and cherish his memory is his wife: Winnie; devoted children: Olga (Selby) Milley, Western Bay, Loretta (Arthur) Oates, Carbonear, Allan 'Junior' (Maureen), Burnt Point, Valerie (Weldon) Peddle, Mount Pearl, Cynthia Oliver, Burnt Point, Barry (Linda) and Cheryl (Todd) Morgan, both of St. John’s; fourteen cherished grandchildren and eight treasured great-grandchildren; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel’s Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Rev. John Davis conducted the funeral service on Monday, September 24 from Memorial United Church, Burnt Point. Interment took place in the United Cemetery, Burnt Point. Donations in his memory may be made to the Newfoundland Pony Society or Memorial United Church, Burnt Point.
