Passed peacefully away at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends on Friday, September 21, 2012, Madeline Fitzgerald of Western Bay, age 80 years. Predeceased by husband: Patrick in June 2001; parents: John and Irene Murphy; parents-in-law: Thomas and Gertrude Fitzgerald; sisters: Bernice Hart, Mary Abbott, Bride Barrow and infant Pauline; brothers: infant Jackie, Tom, Anthony and Jack. Left to mourn, Madeline and Patrick’s children, daughters: Patricia (Noel) Murphy, Western Bay, Pauline Fitzgerald (Gary Noftle), Broad Cove, Anna (Keith) Jenkins, Bernadette (Rick) Preston and son: John P. (Roxanne), all of Western Bay; grandchildren: Jamie (Marie Lynn) Fitzgerald, Jason Jenkins (Jennifer King), Erin Fitzgerald (Conrad Clarke), Paul (Robin) Murphy, Brian Jenkins, Robyn Fitzgerald (Geoffrey Broderick), Amanda and Mitchell Preston; great-grandchildren: Gavin and Owen Fitzgerald and Cailey Broderick; Madeline’s daughter, Geraldine (Claude Bourque), Ontario and children: Michael Ebbs (Ana) and Tara (Brad) Love and grandchildren: Logan, Alyssa, Riley and Cooper; Madeline’s sisters: Irene ( Bill) Laughlin, Margaret (John) Rivard, both of Ontario and Catherine (Joe) Maloney, Grand Falls-Windsor; brothers: Bill (Pauline) and Ted (Clara), both of Grand Falls-Windsor and Dennis (Blenda), Rainbow Lake, Alberta; brother-in-law: John (Mary, Madeline’s special friend) Fitzgerald, Western Bay, Wilson Abbott, Ontario and Silas Barrow, Grand Falls-Windsor; sister-in-law: Joan Murphy, Ontario; nieces and nephews; special friends: Carol and Jr. Flemming, Mount Pearl, Bill and Monica O'Rielly and Clarice Crowley, all of Western Bay; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Fr. Pio Sumbilon and Fr. F.J. Aylward conducted funeral Mass on Monday, September 24 from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment took place in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Western Bay. Donations in her memory may be made to the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Western Bay.
