John "Jack" Keenan

KEENAN, JOHN “JACK” ARTHUR COOPER - The passing of John “Jack” Arthur Cooper Keenan of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Myrtle (Estabrooks) Keenan occurred on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the York Care Centre. Born on March 18, 1923 in Stanley, NB, he was the son of the late James and Jemima (Cooper) Keenan. He was a Veteran of WWII and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, Fredericton, NB and the Stanley Golden Age Club. He was also a member of Gibson Memorial United Church. Jack worked as a truck driver for Diamond Construction, and also worked for Colters for 35 years. Jack is survived by his son, Darrell Keenan (Dawn) of Fredericton, NB; daughter, Edna Bramble of Maugerville, NB; step-daughter, Audrey MacKenzie of Fredericton, NB; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; sister, Edna Richardson of Fredericton, NB; brother, David Keenan (Stella) of Fredericton, NB; step daughter-in-law, Lena of Miramichi City, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Bill Keenan; step-son, Leonard Clark; son-in-law, Eldon Bramble and sister-in-law, Marlene Keenan.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Cora Krommenhoek officiating. Reception will follow in the Fireside Room. Interment will take place in Lower Lincoln Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton SPCA, New Brunswick Lung Association, New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
