
Irène Melanson
MELANSON, IRÈNE - 1917 - 2012 - Irène Melanson, 95, of Foyer Saint-Antoine, in Saint-Antoine, passed away peacefully at the Foyer on Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012. She was married to the late Philippe Melanson (1999). Born in Saint-Antoine on July 30th, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Amédée and the late Eugénie (Richard) Robichaud. She will be sadly missed by her four children; Maria Allain, Nicole Cormier (Ronald), Jean-Marie (Suzanne) and Louis-Marie (Anne-Marie) all of Grande-Digue, her eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn two sisters; Rita Maillet (Late Hector) of Saint-Antoine, Antoinine Savoie (Alphonse) of Bouctouche, one brother Joseph (Léa) of Fitchburg, Mass, and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two children in infancy; Francine and Gilles, one sister Berthe, and five brothers; Emile, Zénon, Yvon, Louis and Roger.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Antoine l’Ermite Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Saint-Antoine on Thursday, October 4th, 2012 from 7 to 9 and on Friday from 2 to 3:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Antoine Church on Friday, October 5th, 2012 at 4:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery. In Irène’s memory donations can be made to the Foyer Saint-Antoine or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
