BOURGEOIS, SR. JEANNE - Sister Jeanne Bourgeois, n.d.s.c., in religion Marie-Fidélis, of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the convent where she resided following a lengthy illness. She was 93 and in her 71th year of her religious life. Born August 3, 1919 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Philippe and Célina (Melanson) Bourgeois. Besides her religious family, she is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by four sisters: Sr Florence, Sr Eva, Sr Alma and Sr Marie, as well as six brothers: Joseph, Edmond, Jean, Henri, Thomas and Emile.
Sister Jeanne will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavillion of the Maison-mère, 125 King St., Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the funeral mass. Solemn Vespers will be held on Friday evening at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Maison-mère chapel at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Memramcook.
