Elsie Tyler

TYLER, ELSIE AGNES (née ANDERSON) - Elsie Tyler, late of Regina, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2012, at the age of 97 years. Elsie was born in Centreville, NB. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest Tyler, shortly after their marriage; her parents Sidney and Plessa Anderson of Browns Flat; and all of her siblings, Sidney, Hilmar, George, Harry and Eileen (Williams). Elsie is survived by her brother-in-law Neil Williams, of Browns Flat and Regina, and her nieces and nephews and their children. Elsie was a devoted family person and worked in Boston, Moncton, and Montreal before returning home to Browns Flat to care for her ailing parents in the fifties. She remained living on the family farm with her brother George until his death in 1999, and then moved to Regina to live with her last remaining sibling Eileen, who passed away in 2010. Because of mobility issues and care needs, Elsie’s last years were spent in a nursing home, but she continued to enjoy outings for family gatherings, a glass of wine each evening and ice cream whenever possible. Elsie loved music and was herself an accomplished singer and tap dancer; old-timers in the Browns Flat area may remember her performances many years ago. A dainty, pretty woman with one brown eye and one blue eye, Elsie truly was ‘one in a million’ and she will always be remembered by her family, friends and care givers as a sweet, fun-loving and kind person who loved pretty clothing and jewelry. Elsie’s family extends sincere thanks to those who looked after her in the nursing home.
A memorial service for Elsie will be held next summer in Browns Flat. Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.
